Best chemical-free Sunscreens

Your favorite sunscreen may not be all its advertised to be!

What’s worse the fact that the UV rays are cancer causing or the prospect that we are possibly assisting, the would be, cancer with applying chemicals to our skin. Suspect ingredients include oxybenzone, which could disrupt the human hormonal system, and Vitamin A (retinyl palmitate) which is potentially cancer assisting.

The best sunscreen is a hat and a shirt. No chemicals for the skin to absorb, no questions about whether the product works, no bogus claims like “sunblock.” (No conventional product blocks out all rays. That’s why the FDA is trying to ban the term. )

But when you can’t avoid exposing your skin to the sun, find these top-rated sunscreens with broad spectrum (UVA and UVB) protection with fewer hazardous chemicals that penetrate the skin.

I have compiled a list of my picks of the best natural sunscreens:

Adorable Baby

100% Natural/Organic Ingredients. Cruelty Free & Gluten Free.  this is a great product (when rubbed in) and is very effective also doesn’t leave that thick white coating like most zinc based sunscreens.

Alba Botanica Mineral Sunblock, Fragrance Free SPF 30, 4 Ounce Tube

Caribbean Solutions SolGuard Biodegradable Sunscreen

Great for if you spend a lot of time in the water, smells delicious too. (don’t forget the re-apply) Comes in SPF 4/25/50

Jason Mineral Sunblock

Nature’s Gate Mineral Sportblock

Kiss My Face Face Factor

Goddess Garden Natural Sunscreen

Vanicream Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin

Aubrey Organics Natural Sun Saving Face Sunscreen

All of these natural sunscreens can be purchased at

Let me know what you think of them or if you have any other recommended natural/non-toxic sunscreens.

  1. It’s hard to find your posts in google. I found it on 18 spot, you should build quality backlinks , it will help you to get more visitors.
I know how to help you, just search in google – k2 seo tips and tricks

  2. Can you apply this on your face? Does it clog your pores? I see this product is itnended for the body, but it is safe to put it on your face? Sometimes I just go outside for a short time so I don’t want to apply my current sunscreen (Biore UV Perfect face milk), which is water-proof and there for it’s hard to remove it.

    1. Hi Isak,

Yes all of these are safe for use on your face.
Some of them may be a bit white on the skin because they have zinc in them.
Biore does not ‘chemical free’ just be aware that your skin will absorb all of these chemicals.

      Hope this answer was helpful.
