Tuna Poke Recipe

One of my all time favourite dishes! I discovered it as a girl growing up on the Hawaiian Island of Maui.

This is a recipe I have fine tuned to how I like to eat it.

I hope you enjoy..

2 of the freshest sashimi grade Ahi tuna steaks you can find (about 1 1/2 pounds)
1 small red onion or shallots, sliced
3 stalks chopped green onion
3 tablespoons soy sauce (use Tamari if you’re gluten intolerant)
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon of fresh ginger (I use a microplane)
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (I use black)

Pat the Ahi tuna dry, then neatly cut it into small 1/2 inch cubes. Place in a glass bowl.
Add the shallots, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and sesame seeds.

You can also add a fresh avocado if you so desire when serving.

Put on top of green salad or as an entree.

Let me know what you think or if you have any tips or variations – honestly it is melt in your mouth!! 10929098_946215908721916_6168978685719852379_n
